Tsunami: The Aftermath is a television mini-series that was broadcast in two parts in 2006. It dramatizes the events following the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and the resulting tsunami in Thailand. Tsunami: The Aftermath is a joint production of HBO and the BBC and stars Tim Roth, Toni Collette, Sophie Okonedo, Samrit Machielsen, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Savannah Loney. It was filmed in Phuket and Khao Lak, Thailand from April to June 2006. Phuket and Khao Lak were two of the worst hit areas in the country in the December 26, 2004 disaster.

Aftermath consists of a series of "experiments" looking at what would happen if planetary conditions changed drastically, within our lifetime. The series is a follow-up to the TV special Aftermath: Population Zero. In 2010, the series was nominated for a 2010 Gemini award for best documentary.

Erebus: The Aftermath was a 1988 New Zealand television miniseries about Air New Zealand Flight 901, which crashed in Antarctica in 1979. The miniseries, a docudrama, was produced by Television New Zealand, and was broadcast in New Zealand and Australia. It was recently repeated by TVNZ to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the crash. The series starred Frank Finlay as Justice Peter Mahon, the head of the Royal Commission of Inquiry that investigated the disaster, and David Cole as the chief witness. It was directed by Peter Sharp and written by Greg McGee. It was produced by Caterina De Nave. Erebus: The Aftermath won several New Zealand Film and TV Awards, including Best Drama Programme, Best Drama Series, Best Writer, Best Television Director, and Best Performance - Male in a Dramatic Role.

Similar to the History Channel's special Life After People, Aftermath features what scientists and others speculate the earth, animal life, and plant life might be like if humanity no longer existed, as well as the effect that humanity's disappearance would have on the artifacts of civilization. Both documentaries are inspired by Alan Weisman's The World Without Us. A follow-up 4-part TV series was created, Aftermath, following different scenarios and what happens.
